The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) said Tuesday that Ninoy Aquino Stadium (NAS) at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex (RMSC) in Manila can quarantine COVID-19 patients.
PSC chief of staff and national training manager Marc Velasco said, however, that only patients with mild symptoms are accommodated there, based on the assessment by the Ministry of Health (DOH): "For severe to critical cases, they must be taken to a hospital", said Velasco.
The Department of Public Works and Highways, which dispatched a team to investigate possible quarantine facilities within the RMSC and PhilSports Complex in Pasig City, will upgrade the NAS to make room for at least 200 beds.
"We were told that the Ninoy Aquino Stadium met the requirements of the DOH to accommodate mild patients," said Velasco. INQ
