MIAMI – Dion Waiters was again suspended by the Miami Heat, his third banishment of the season, without pay.
The team announced Thursday's announcement as "reasons for its failure to comply with team rules, team rules and continued disobedience". The change took place only a few hours after Kellner had been excluded because of illness from the Friday match against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Waiters have been ill for several days, but the already tense relationship is obviously on the decline again. He is allowed to return only after the game from Miami against Utah on December 23.
He has already lost around $ 920,000 in salary from two previous suspensions – a one-time player who should start the year after complaining about his role in the preseason, then a ten-player after a team airplane incident in which one person The knowledge was that he had taken at least one edible product infused with cannabis and had a response that required medical attention.
The final lock amounts to six games or another $ 500,000 of his salary of $ 12.1 million – and increases his loss of wages this season to more than $ 1.4 million. It does not include a $ 1.1 million bonus that he could have earned if he played in 70 games.
Waiters are in the third year of a four-year contract of $ 47.3 million, which provided about $ 5 million more incentive to play a certain number of games.
Waiters have never made more than 46 appearances in a year since their arrival in Miami. He has played with the heat in just 120 games and missed many for ankle injuries and ankle and foot operations.
Waiters is a 13.2-point scorer in his career, scoring an average of 14 points per game while he was in the heat.
